Przygoda Zuzanny Barteckiej z dzianiną zaczęła się podczas studiów biochemii na Uniwersytecie Wrocławskim. Na ćwiczeniach z biochemii lub innych wykładach, obok aparatury pomiarowej, pipet i próbówek, pod ławką zawsze w pogotowiu były druty i wełniana przędza. Początkowo były to swetrzyska-krajobrazy, prawdziwe lub wyimaginowane. Były tak odkrywcze i dobre, że dostała z Ministerstwa Kultury i Sztuki bezterminową zgodę na wykonywanie zawodu artysty plastyka w zakresie tkaniny artystycznej i odzieży dzianej. Od 10 lat eksperymentuje z przędzą lnianą, która dotychczas rzadko była wykorzystywana do dzianin. Fascynację nitką lnianą uzasadnia tym, że żadna przędza poza lnianą nie daje takich możliwości fakturowania, cieniowanie i bawienia się różnymi splotami i tylko w lnie można w sposób wyrazisty je wyeksponować. W firmie częstym zjawiskiem jest spontaniczne upinanie kawałków tkanin na manekinach, przez co powstają niepowtarzalne stroje inspirujące kolekcję. Kolejnym materiałem, który zafascynował Zuzannę Bartecką jest filc. Projektantka sama opracowała specjalną technologię jego wytwarzania, dzięki, której materiał ten zyskuje nowe oblicze. Das Abenteuer mit der Wirkware begann für Zuzanna Bartecka noch während ihres Biochemiestudiums an der Breslauer Universität. In den Übungunen der Biochemie oder während der Vorlesungen hatte Zuzanna neben allerelei Messgeräten, Pipetten und Reagenzgläsern unter der Bank auch immer ihre Strickutensilien parat. Am Anfang waren es Pullover-Landschaften, die - als wirklichkeitsgetreu oder imaginär - entstanden. Auf jeden Fall waren sie so gut ausgefallen, dass sie Zuzanna eine fristlose Genehmigung des polnischen Kultusministeriums zur Ausübung des Künstlerberufs im Bereich Künstlergewebe und Strickkleidung gebracht haben. Zuzanna experimentiert seit zehn Jahren mit dem Leinengarn, das bisher nur selten Anwendung als Wirkware fand. Ihre Faszination mit dem Lein begründet sie mit der Tatsache, dass kein anderer Faden solche Möglichkeiten bietet, Faktur und Schattierungen des Stoffs hervorzuheben sowie mit unterschiedlichen Verflechtungen kreativ zu spielen. Dies ist nur durch die Arbeit mit dem Lein zu erreichen. Der Naturlein wird mit der Zeit immer edler; je mehr er getragen, gewaschen oder zur Sonne gestellt wird, wirkt er allmählich weich, flüssig und optisch silbern, indem er gleichzeitig seine Rauheit loswird. Er passt sich ausgezeichnet dem Körper an, hat im Sommer eine angenehme kühlende Wirkung, im Winter dagegen hält er Wärme. Der Naturlein ist allergiebeständig und hat eine positive Jonisierung, die gesundheitsfördend wirkt. Die Herstellung des Stoffs ist umständlich, dennoch des Endeffekts wert. Die neuen Strickmaschinen kommen mit dem Material nicht sehr gut zurecht, deshalb vertraut Zuzanna immer noch ausschließlich den alten, bewährten Mechanismen und überwacht persönlich den Herstellungsprozess sowie die Qualität des Stoffs. Ein häufiges Verfahren in der Firma ist ein spontanes Anpassen der Stoffsproben an den Schneiderpuppen, wodurch einmalige, neue Kollektionen inspirierende Kleidungsstücke entstehen. Ein anderes Material, das Zuzanna begeistert, ist der Filzstoff. Die Designerin hat eine spezielle Produktionstechnologie entwickelt, wodurch der Stoff einen neuen Hauch bekommt. Es entstehen nun ungewöhnliche Mäntel, Jacketts, Schale, Mützen und Röcke. Die neueste Idee, die das Angebot der Werkstatt erweitert, ist eine fantasievolle Verbindung von Filz und Lein.

Zuzanna Bartecka began her adventure with knitwear when she was studying biochemistry on the University of Wroclaw. During her biochemistry classes and other courses, among various apparatuses, pipettes and test tubes she always had a set of knitting needles and woolen yarn at hand under her desk. Her first creations were sweaters-landscapes – real or imaginary. They were so innovative, that the Ministry of Culture and Art awarded her with a indefinite permit to perform the occupation of artist of fabric and knitwear. She has been experimenting with linen for 17 years, which at that time was a yarn rarely used for knitwear. She explains her fascination with linen by the fact, that no other yarn gives one such possibilities of texturing, shading and playing with different weaves, only in linen can they be so expressively accentuated. Along with the passage of time linen acquires refinement – the longer it is worn, washed and exposed to sunlight the more soft and delicate it becomes and gains verdigris, it loses its’ initial roughness. Linen adapts itself to the bodyline, it cools in summer and retains heat in winter. Linen is not allergenic and is characterized by healthy negative ionization. The production process is difficult, but the outcome is well worth the effort. New knitting machines would not be able to handle this unusual yarn that is why Zuzanna Bartecka trusts only in the older models of knitting machines, she constantly supervises the production process and personally verifies the quality of the knitted material. It is not an uncommon phenomena in the company for people to spontaneously swag bits and pieces of fabric on mannequins, which leads to the creation of unique designs that inspire a collection. Felt is another material that has gained Zuzanna Bartecka’s greater attention. She herself had designed a special technology of producing it, that allows felt to gain a new face. Uncanny coats, jackets, shawls, hats, skirts and dresses are being made. The newest idea that broadens the offer of the company is a fanciful combination of linen and felt.
